Experienced SICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Columbus, Ohio (43210). Join a high-acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit and provide expert critical care nursing for adult patients with complex surgical, neurologic, and hemodynamic needs. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940-$2,040
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Start Date: 8/10/2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Pattern: Night shift, 3x12s (19:00 - 07:30)
- Patient Population: Adult patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current ICU or critical care RN experience required
- Recent acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months required
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Oncology experience preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the SICU setting
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, including complex hemodynamic and neurologic status
- Manage patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, septic shock, hemorrhagic shock, hypovolemic shock, ARDS, pneumonia, stroke, craniotomy recovery, intracranial hypertension, and delirium
- Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, heated high-flow therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy management, and vasopressor titration
- Support specialized interventions including external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, CRRT, and massive transfusion protocols
- Administer blood products, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and cardiac or vasoactive drips as appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and rapid response teams
- May float to James MICU or UH MICU/SICU and may also float to M/S or PCU units based on patient care needs
