- Schedule: Night shifts; posted every 6 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: May float to nearby sister facilities
- Charting Experience: Epic preferred
- Orientation: 12 hours
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or ER nursing experience required
- Previous travel RN experience required
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Ability to care for adult and pediatric emergency patients
- Experience with high-acuity and trauma-related scenarios preferred
- Must be comfortable floating as needed to sister facilities
- Must be willing to work required holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a busy Emergency Department
- Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Support triage, ED holding, ambulance triage, and lobby triage workflows
- Administer and manage treatments including breathing treatments, blood products, CPAP/BiPAP, and procedural sedation
- Assist with chest tube setup and care, rapid sequence intubation support, trach care, and ventilated patient management
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs, manage dysrhythmias, and support cardiovascular interventions such as cardioversion and defibrillation
- Support critical interventions including CRRT/dialysis, rapid infuser use, and cooling/warming therapies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient patient care in a high-volume emergency setting
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold best practices for patient safety and quality care
