Job Details

• Setting: Acute care Emergency Department / Level 1 trauma center
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Schedule: 12-hour evening shifts, 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• End Date: 11/16/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Charting System: EPIC
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 12 hours

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing or acute care nursing experience required
• Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency room setting strongly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS
• Strong rhythm interpretation skills and familiarity with critical care drips
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric patients
• Prior travel RN assignment experience preferred
• SANE RN experience preferred
• Comfort working in a teaching hospital environment preferred
• Must be able to complete a negative drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a busy, Level 1 Emergency Department
• Care for patients with trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and other critical emergencies
• Titrate and monitor vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips as needed
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond to changing acuity levels
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and take appropriate action when life-threatening changes occur
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, techs, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team
• Support trauma care as patients are stabilized and transferred into the Emergency Department workflow
• Float as a help-all resource when needed and remain flexible in a dynamic environment
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain strong communication throughout the shift
