Travel ICU RN opportunity in Parkersburg, WV for an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse seeking a 13-week assignment in a fast-paced intensive care unit. Job Details
- Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Acute Care
- Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
- Schedule: 12-hour nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
- Charting System: EPIC
- Floating: May be required to assist in Stepdown and MedSurg as needed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 1 year of critical care or ICU nursing experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong working knowledge of CRRT, IABP, ventilators, post-code care, therapeutic hypothermia, vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics
- Ability to titrate critical care drips within ordered parameters
- Competence with central line care and removal
- Comfortable working in a busy ICU with complex patient acuity
- Valid driver's license required for submission
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill adults in a dynamic ICU setting
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition with accuracy and urgency
- Administer and titrate ICU medications and drips safely and effectively
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the broader care team
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, neurosurgical conditions, and vascular issues
- Support ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients using advanced critical care nursing skills
- Help maintain strong unit coverage by floating as needed to other inpatient areas
