- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 3 shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Coverage: 2–3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Unit Size: 26 beds
- Patient Population: Neonates requiring complex medical and surgical care
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Wisconsin or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience, including Level III/IV neonatal ICU experience
- At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required from AHA
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Ability to care for patients with post-op needs, g-tubes, trachs/vents, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Willingness to float to other pediatric units caring for patients under 12 months of age, including PICU as needed
- Must be comfortable completing required telemetry testing prior to start
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a family-centered care approach
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care for critically ill newborns and their families from admission through discharge
- Monitor and manage neonates with complex surgical, cardiac, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
- Support patients requiring advanced ventilation, oxygen delivery systems, and other NICU technologies
- Assist with specialized neonatal care such as thermoregulation, phototherapy, feeding support, and post-operative recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Promote a healing, family-centered environment for patients and caregivers
- Adapt to floating assignments within pediatric care areas as needed
