• Start Date: 8/28/2026
• Contract Duration: 20 weeks, with a 13-week option available
• Schedule: Rotating days and nights, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250-$2,370
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiology stepdown / progressive care

Job Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in the cardiac stepdown or related specialty
• At least 18 months of recent stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry nursing experience; travel nurse experience accepted
• Active permanent Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to work rotating day and night 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting
• Willingness to work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate completion during orientation with an acceptable score
• Strong communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiac nursing care to stepdown patients with complex cardiovascular needs
• Monitor patient status, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support safe, effective care plans
• Administer medications, complete assessments, and document patient progress accurately in the EMR
• Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and clear communication throughout the care process
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced progressive care environment
• Float to similar patient care units when needed to support operational needs
