Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience
- At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience required
- BLS and NRP certification required (AHA only)
- PALS and Wisconsin RN license or compact license preferred/required per assignment compliance
- Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills; testing required prior to start
- Ability to work rotating days and nights, plus weekends as assigned
- Travel nurse experience required
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based neonatal nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families from admission through discharge
- Monitor and manage infants requiring advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and respiratory support in the NICU
- Care for high-acuity neonatal patients with surgical, cardiac, neurologic, metabolic, and respiratory needs
- Support ventilator management, airway care, and specialized neonatal interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, imaging, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Float as needed to appropriate pediatric units caring for patients under 12 months of age
- Deliver family-centered education and support throughout the neonatal care journey
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and infection prevention
