• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 8/17/2026
• Setting: Acute care Emergency Department
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Charting System: Cerner
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Experience boarding patients in the Emergency Department
• Comfort floating and supporting Med-Surg and CCU as needed
• Current RN license
• Cerner experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and ENPC
• Strong IV insertion and EKG rhythm interpretation skills
• Ability to work independently in a busy, high-acuity, high-volume environment
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full travel nursing contract

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Emergency Department patients in an acute care setting
• Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage patients with chest pain, stroke symptoms, abdominal pain, altered mental status, shortness of breath, and other emergency conditions
• Care for boarded patients and support safe patient flow in the ED
• Float to Med-Surg and CCU in the role of an ER Registered Nurse as needed
• Perform IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, EKG interpretation, and core emergency nursing tasks
• Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to deliver efficient, compassionate care
• Follow department protocols while using strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Support patient safety, communication, and teamwork during every shift
