• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job
• Setting: Acute care Labor & Delivery unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: ASAP
• Charting System: Allscripts
• Unit Highlights: 7 L&D beds, 2 triage beds, 10 postpartum beds
• Patient Volume: Approximately 1-3 births per day
• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required; may float to ED or MedSurg if experienced

Job Requirements

• Active RN license with eligibility to work in Arizona
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Strong experience with fetal monitoring and recognition of fetal distress
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients, including pre-eclampsia
• C-section experience required
• Ability to function independently in a setting without an in-house OB provider
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Excellent clinical judgment, assessment skills, and emergency response capability
• Flexibility to support couplet care and float to other units when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring, postpartum, and couplet care patients
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and respond appropriately to signs of fetal distress
• Support patients through labor, delivery, and post-delivery recovery
• Assist with C-sections and manage high-risk obstetric situations with confidence
• Stabilize and care for patients during OB emergencies until the provider arrives
• Collaborate closely with the care team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the charting system and follow unit protocols
• Adapt to unit needs, including occasional float assignments when experienced
