• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown RN)

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Setting: Progressive Care / Stepdown, 30-bed unit
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Schedule Notes: Weekend shifts required; experienced nurses may float after orientation
• Documentation System: Meditech

Job Requirements

• Current RN licensure required
• BLS certification required for acute care nursing
• ACLS certification required for neuro stepdown
• Stepdown, PCU, or progressive care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Ability to adapt quickly in a travel nurse assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to acute care and neuro stepdown patients in a progressive care unit
• Monitor patients with a range of clinical needs, including stroke-related conditions and complex medical cases
• Support care involving high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and titrated cardiac drips
• Assist with common bedside and unit procedures such as lumbar punctures and chest tube placement
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care through bedside shift report, daily huddles, and personal connection
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Meditech
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and unit secretaries to ensure smooth patient flow
• Adapt to floating opportunities after orientation when needed
