Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; 18 months may be considered with high-level practice experience and at least 1 year of recent CVICU or critical care experience
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current AHA ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or equivalent required as applicable
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Strong critical care, cardiac ICU, and clinical assessment skills in a high-acuity setting
• Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and adapt to changing patient needs

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for adult cardiac patients in a busy CVICU environment
• Monitor complex patient conditions and respond to changes with sound clinical judgment
• Support patients arriving from the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and acute care areas
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best possible outcomes
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered critical care in a safe and secure environment
• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and excellent communication in a high-performance cardiovascular ICU setting
• Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care
