Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; 18 months may be considered with high-level practice experience and at least 1 year of recent CVICU or critical care experience
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Current AHA ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or equivalent required as applicable
- Associate degree in Nursing required
- Strong critical care, cardiac ICU, and clinical assessment skills in a high-acuity setting
- Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams and adapt to changing patient needs
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for adult cardiac patients in a busy CVICU environment
- Monitor complex patient conditions and respond to changes with sound clinical judgment
- Support patients arriving from the Cath Lab, Emergency Department, and acute care areas
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best possible outcomes
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered critical care in a safe and secure environment
- Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and excellent communication in a high-performance cardiovascular ICU setting
- Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care
