Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000-$2,100
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday
- Start Date: 07/23/2026
Job Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred
- 1 year of Telemetry experience preferred
- 1 year of Pediatrics experience preferred
- ACLS required
- PALS preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
- Professional, compassionate approach to care delivery
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care goals
- Provide care aligned with standards of practice, unit protocols, and established policies
- Support patient dignity, comfort, and positive self-regard throughout the care experience
- Educate patients and families based on learning needs and readiness to learn
- Collaborate with the care team to prepare patients and families for discharge
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions appropriately
- Prioritize patient needs and escalate concerns when urgent intervention is needed
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately
- Give clear, timely handoff reports to support continuity of care
- Administer medications and IV therapy safely and in accordance with physician orders
- Assess and reassess pain control, including medication effectiveness and patient response
- Complete medication reconciliation documentation as required
- Monitor cardiac rhythm and report changes appropriately
- Assist with care for surgical patients, including equipment and drain management as needed
- Promote a positive, supportive work environment and contribute to team learning
