Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by the start date
- At least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive care, telemetry, or step-down unit experience preferred
- ACLS preferred
- PALS preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care and hospital nursing environment
- Ability to arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care for progressive care, telemetry, and step-down patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips accurately
- Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks and other routine bedside assessments
- Support safe, timely care for patients with cardiac, medical-surgical, and acute care needs
- Use electronic health records, charting systems, and medication management systems accurately
- Administer medications and monitor patient response in accordance with best practices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver patient-centered care
- Float to other acute care areas such as medical-surgical, pediatric, ICU, or emergency settings as needed
