• Float: May float from the patient floor to admissions

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of psych nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required through AHA
• CPI or HWC certification required
• ADN required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Comfortable working with adult behavioral health patients
• Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills

Psychiatric Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adults in a behavioral health unit
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changing needs
• Support patients with voluntary admissions, detox, and other mental health needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
• Use de-escalation techniques to help manage challenging situations
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR
• Assist with patient flow as needed, including floating to admissions
• Follow unit protocols and maintain a professional, compassionate approach at all times
