• Orientation: 20 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
• Location: Madison, Wisconsin
• Work Setting: 28-bed med/surg and short-stay unit with a diverse patient population
• Float: Required within the general care acute care division

Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to successfully complete telemetry testing prior to start
• Strong assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays based on operational need
• Travel clinicians should be prepared to float as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to adults and geriatric patients in a med/surg telemetry setting
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for short-stay postoperative patients and patients admitted for medical conditions
• Support assessments, medication administration, IV management, and ongoing patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response resources
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain safe, efficient patient care workflows
• Float within the acute care division as assigned
• Help maintain a positive, team-oriented environment focused on quality patient outcomes
