- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 8/31/2026
- Weekend/Holiday Commitment: Every other weekend and holidays as applicable
- Floating: Required within skill set to ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a compact state license at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience required
- SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Experience with fresh open heart cases strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable with high-acuity cardiac and critical care patient populations
- Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide expert care for CVICU patients with complex cardiac and post-operative needs
- Monitor and manage fresh heart patients, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and lumbar drains
- Support post-op open heart recovery, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR cases
- Manage arterial lines, Swan Ganz monitoring, temporary pacers, and FloTrac/Vigileo systems
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per critical care protocols
- Care for patients with Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and CRRT support when applicable
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Float within the unit skill set as needed to support patient care across designated areas
