- Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM; occasional start time as early as 5:30 AM
- Shift Duration: 8 hours
- Shifts Per Week: 5
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirements: On-call schedule includes approximately 10–12 call shifts over 6 weeks, including 1–2 weekends and 1–2 weekdays
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,750–$2,890
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIH certification required
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
- At least 1–2 years of general Operating Room experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical workflow, and perioperative best practices
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment
Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for cardiac and general surgical patients
- Circulate for CVOR procedures, including CABG, TAVRs, windows, VATs, open heart procedures, and general surgery as needed
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery to support optimal outcomes
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the broader surgical team to ensure safe and efficient procedures
- Assist with gowning, draping, patient positioning, and sterile field maintenance
- Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain accurate documentation throughout the case
- Support safe patient transport, room setup, and adherence to infection control standards
- Respond appropriately to call coverage needs and changing case volumes
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with attention to quality and safety
