• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Intermediate Care Unit
• Unit Focus: Mixed IMC acuity with cardiac, neuro, general medical, and respiratory patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment or compact RN license eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown, SDU, or IMCU nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Ventilator experience in an intermediate care setting required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Comfort working night shifts and adapting to changing patient needs

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a PCU/Stepdown setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, neurologic, renal, gastrointestinal, and respiratory conditions
• Administer and monitor therapies such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Lasix, and Bumex
• Support patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator-level care when needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, efficient patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide patient education throughout the care process
• Respond confidently to changing patient conditions while maintaining a calm, professional presence
