Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Midlothian, VA

Travel Labor & Delivery RN opportunity in Midlothian, Virginia. • Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week, typically 3 x 12-hour shifts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage may be required
• Call: Up to 24 hours per 6 weeks

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• 1-2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred
• Hospital-based experience required
• Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, cesarean section, postpartum, and magnesium sulfate administration preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• C-EFM certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC and Perinatal Centricity preferred
• Ability to complete a dysrhythmia exam required
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a high-acuity maternity care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process
• Monitor fetal heart patterns, maternal status, and labor progression
• Support antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care as needed
• Circulate cesarean sections and assist with deliveries when appropriate
• Administer medications and manage magnesium sulfate therapy per protocol
• Perform vaginal exams, triage assessments, and stabilization of the mother/fetal dyad
• Provide breastfeeding education, discharge teaching, and family-centered support
• Respond calmly to emergencies and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical standards and safety practices
