Travel Postpartum Registered Nurse Job – Mechanicsville, VA (Greater Richmond Area)

Compassionate Postpartum RN needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state license eligibility
• At least 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience in postpartum, newborn, or women’s health nursing strongly preferred
• Experience with high-acuity maternal/newborn couplets preferred
• Epic experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and participating in weekend/holiday rotation
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postpartum nursing and newborn care for mother/baby couplets
• Perform postpartum and newborn assessments, including monitoring for changes in condition
• Support low-risk deliveries and assist with transitioning newborns after birth
• Monitor fetal status when applicable using Toco/US fetal monitoring
• Care for patients with complex needs such as chronic conditions, substance use disorder, and pregnancy-related complications
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, coordinated women’s health care
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize care in a high-acuity postpartum and maternal-newborn environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and support a safe, patient-centered experience
