- Position: PCU RN / Progressive Care Nurse / Stepdown RN
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Setting: Progressive Care / Stepdown / Intermediate Coronary Care
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of registered nurse experience required
- Previous acute care hospital experience preferred
- BLS required; ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- CCRN or PCCN certification preferred
- Ability to complete a dysrhythmia exam
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills and comfort with progressive care patient needs
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health records preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients
- Assess patient conditions, identify priorities, and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and nursing standards
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient status
- Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines, multiple drains, and hemodynamic monitoring needs
- Manage patients receiving advanced respiratory support such as Airvo and continuous BiPAP
- Support patients receiving drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, and insulin
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective care
- Educate patients and families while promoting comfort, safety, and positive outcomes
- Maintain calm, compassionate, and professional care in a fast-moving clinical environment
