- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Afternoons/Evenings; 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour evenings
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
- Unit Highlights: 40-bed ED with hallway and fast-track capacity; high-acuity trauma, behavioral health, and emergency care exposure
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- At least 1 year of RN experience required
- Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
- 2 years of Emergency Room experience preferred
- BLS required prior to direct patient care
- ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
- TNCC preferred
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Strong assessment, prioritization, critical thinking, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies
- Care for patients with medical, trauma, pediatric, gerontologic, behavioral health, and life-threatening conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, EMS, transfer centers, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement efforts
- Support trauma care, stabilization, resuscitation, triage, and crisis intervention as needed
- Maintain calm, adaptability, and professionalism during high-stress situations
- Follow infection control practices and use appropriate PPE
- Document care accurately and support safe, efficient patient flow throughout the department
