Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure
• At least 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire; preferred at hire
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• CCRN or PCCN preferred
• Experience in an acute care hospital, telemetry, or stepdown setting preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage a fast-paced travel nursing assignment with changing patient needs

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and state practice standards
• Care for telemetry and stepdown patients, including cardiac rule-out, CHF exacerbations, and pre- and post-cardiac cath patients
• Monitor and titrate ordered drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin as appropriate
• Provide care for patients with chest tubes, PICC lines, ports, and standard post-operative drains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Support patient and family education with a compassionate, relationship-based approach
• Respond calmly and effectively to changes in patient condition
• Maintain safe, evidence-based nursing practices in a dynamic hospital environment
