• Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Location: Petersburg, Virginia 23805
• Start Date: August 17, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in acute care, stepdown, or progressive care
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills and familiarity with dysrhythmia recognition
• Experience with titratable cardiac drips preferred
• Ability to think critically, respond quickly to changes in patient condition, and manage complex care needs
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Preceptor or charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to Progressive Care Unit and stepdown patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for individuals with complex medical needs
• Monitor telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to signs of clinical deterioration
• Administer medications and manage patients receiving advanced respiratory support and cardiac therapies
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate effective patient care
• Support patients and families through education, communication, and advocacy
• Float to med/surg telemetry units as needed
• Maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
