Job Details
- Setting: Level III NICU
- Location: Richmond, Virginia 23226
- Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
- Start Date: 8/3/2026
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
- 2.5 to 3 years of NICU nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Experience with cooling therapy, ventilators, JET ventilators, and oscillators required
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity pediatric and neonatal care environment
- Travel candidates only; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Complete ongoing assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Support care for infants requiring advanced respiratory support and thermoregulation
- Manage and monitor specialized NICU equipment, including ventilators and cooling systems
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to create and update individualized care plans
- Provide family education, reassurance, and developmentally appropriate support
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established protocols and safety standards
- Float within similar neonatal areas when needed, based on unit requirements
