Job Details
- Position: PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase 1 Recovery)
- Location: Binghamton, NY 13905
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 4
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM, with a rotating day off
- On-Call: 1-2 weekday calls per week and every 4th weekend
- Patient Focus: Ortho, general, vascular, pulmonary, OB/Gyn, ENT, neuro, GU, GI, and cath lab procedures
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and airway management skills
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Phase 1 PACU recovery preferred
- Ability to provide care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-moving acute care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Phase 1 PACU care for post-operative patients in a hospital setting
- Monitor airway status, oxygen therapy, drips, pain levels, and hemodynamic stability
- Assess patient condition before, during, and after recovery to support optimal outcomes
- Deliver individualized patient care with strong attention to safety, comfort, and recovery goals
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support smooth patient transitions
- Prepare patients for discharge from recovery or transfer to the appropriate level of care
- Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and quality patient care
