• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Setting: High-acuity postpartum, newborn, and couplet care

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
• At least 1 year of RN experience required
• Recent OB, labor and delivery, emergency department, or critical care experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS may be accepted in lieu of BLS
• NRP required within 3 months of hire if not obtained at start
• Electronic fetal monitoring certification preferred if interpreting fetal monitoring
• Experience with Epic EHR preferred
• Must be comfortable working in a travel nursing role and floating within the women’s health department as needed
• Candidate should live outside the 50-mile local radius

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based postpartum nursing care for mothers and newborns in a couplet care setting
• Complete comprehensive maternal and newborn assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Monitor patients using Toco/US fetal monitoring and other unit-specific equipment as assigned
• Support low-risk deliveries and safely receive and transition newborns
• Perform postpartum education and newborn education, including breastfeeding support, discharge teaching, and follow-up planning
• Care for high-acuity maternal/newborn couplets, including patients with chronic pregnancy-related conditions and substance use disorder
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Promote a calm, supportive, and family-centered patient experience
• Maintain professional standards, patient safety, and infection control practices at all times
