Job Requirements
- Active Montana RN license
- Recent Critical Care, CVICU, and open heart experience preferred
- Recent experience caring for immediate post-operative open heart patients
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- PALS certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and cardiac monitoring
- Ability to manage advanced equipment, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited nursing program
Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care nursing for hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable cardiac patients
- Care for immediate post-operative open heart patients from the first day of assignment
- Monitor and manage patients with chest tubes, A-lines, central lines, multiple IV infusions, and ventilatory support
- Assess for changes in condition and respond quickly to potential deterioration
- Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and the ICU leadership team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Support patients across the continuum of care, including discharge planning
- Assist with precepting and serve as a clinical resource for team members
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care with attention to physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs
