- Patient Population: Adolescents, infants, and adults
- Float Expectations: Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission; compact license accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Epic charting experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced obstetrical unit with high-risk and low-risk patients
- Must be comfortable with floating as needed based on skill set
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to laboring patients and newborns
- Support patients experiencing labor, preterm labor, and other obstetrical needs
- Assist with all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- Circulate for C-sections and support pre-op, post-op, scrub, and OB-GYN workflows
- Perform assessments, monitoring, and interventions for antepartum and Labor & Delivery patients
- Administer and manage blood products, magnesium sulfate, insulin, heparin, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps as indicated
- Provide triage support, patient education, and ongoing labor management
- Use strong clinical judgment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a busy obstetrical setting
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols and patient safety standards
