Job Details
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
- Setting: Acute Care Emergency Room / Emergency Department
- Location: Kearney, Nebraska 68845
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shift Details: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, with possible swing shifts from 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other to every 3rd weekend
- Start Date: 9/21/2026
- End Date: 12/21/2026
- Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
Job Requirements
- Current RN license
- At least 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
- ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- NIHSS certification
- PALS certification
- TNCC certification
- Strong IV skills required
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, team-oriented emergency care environment
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients with varying acuity levels
- Assess, monitor, and treat patients presenting with cardiac, stroke, trauma, and other emergency conditions
- Perform IV starts, lab draws, medication administration, and other essential ER nursing duties
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
- Deliver care in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compassion
- Support patient flow across triage, treatment, and trauma areas as needed
- Adapt to occasional med-surg holds and varying patient volumes
