Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Setting: High-Risk Labor & Delivery, OB Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours, with option for 48 hours
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Start Date: 08/26/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
• Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend
• Location: Topeka, KS 66606 — a welcoming capital city with a strong community feel, convenient amenities, and a comfortable pace of life
• Orientation: Onsite unit orientation provided
• Floating: May float to postpartum as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• BLS, AWHONN, and NRP required
• Strong experience with laboring patient care, fetal monitoring, and postpartum support
• Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients, including pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and other complications
• Epic experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and occasional float assignments within scope
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
• Support high-risk pregnancies and manage OB triage patients
• Assist with C-sections, external cephalic versions, and related procedures
• Care for postpartum couplet patients and support newborn transition
• Perform assessments, interventions, and patient education throughout the continuum of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold best practices in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Float to postpartum when needed and contribute to smooth patient flow across the unit
