• Position: Travel Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Norfolk, Virginia 23507
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Unit: Cardiac Procedural & Surgical Unit / Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Start Date: September 7, 2026

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Recent acute care nursing experience preferred
• Cardiac stepdown, PCU, telemetry, or post-surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
• Comfort caring for post-cardiac surgery patients and complex cardiovascular cases
• Ability to work night shifts and maintain strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced cardiac care environment
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for post-cardiac surgery and cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as post-cardiac surgery recovery and PCI
• Support patients receiving cardiac-related drips and therapies, including vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications
• Care for patients with epicardial pacing wires, pacer boxes, trachs, PEGs, and chest tubes as needed
• Perform ongoing assessments, monitor telemetry, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient outcomes
