Job Details
- Position: Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Greensboro, NC 27401
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800-$1,890
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend as needed
- Floating: Required when census is down; travelers may float as needed
- Charting System: EPIC
- Patient Ratios: 6:1 on days, nights, and weekends
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry or related medical-surgical nursing experience
- BLS required
- ACLS and NIHSS preferred/required per unit needs
- EPIC experience required
- Ability to pass an EKG compliance exam during onboarding
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Strong adaptability, punctuality, and flexibility with scheduling
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-moving healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients with a primary focus on medical-surgical needs
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and escalate concerns as needed
- Care for patients with observation needs, respiratory conditions, diabetes, surgical recovery, palliative care needs, and psychiatric observation
- Manage IV therapy, peripheral lines, wound care, feeding tubes, ostomy care, chest tubes, and other common Med/Surg nursing interventions
- Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and post-hemodialysis care
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response resources
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and assist with rapid response or code team activations when indicated
