ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment in Clinton, MD

ICU RN travel job in Clinton, Maryland: join a high-acuity critical care team in Southern Maryland with easy access to Washington, D.C., National Harbor, and surrounding communities. This 13-week travel nursing assignment is ideal for an experienced Critical Care RN who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and enjoys caring for adult and geriatric patients in IMC and ICU settings.

Job Details

  • Setting: IMC/ICU with float support to ICU, ED, and Med Surg as needed
  • Shift: Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (3x12)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 - $1,860
  • Start Date: 09/08/2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
  • Patient Census: Average daily census of 9
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Charting System: Cerner

Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
  • Minimum of 1 completed travel nurse assignment required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability to pass a Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum score of 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation
  • Comfort with rotating day/night shifts and weekend coverage
  • Strong critical care assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a high-acuity acute care hospital environment

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in IMC and ICU settings
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in condition for cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and GI/GU patients
  • Manage telemetry, cardiac drips, non-titratable drips, ventilator and tracheostomy support, and other critical care therapies
  • Perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate interventions with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Support patients requiring HFNC, dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and advanced respiratory care
  • Float to ICU, ED, and Med Surg as needed to meet patient care needs
  • Maintain accurate charting and follow unit workflows, safety standards, and clinical best practices
