Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in DC required at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing assignment experience required
- Experience in PACU, post-operative recovery, or acute care nursing preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a team-based healthcare environment
- Ability to work scheduled day shifts and maintain excellent attendance
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Must be prepared to meet facility compliance requirements prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate recovery care to patients following surgical and procedural interventions
- Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and post-anesthesia recovery progress
- Assess patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly to the appropriate care team
- Administer medications and support interventions according to established nursing protocols and provider orders
- Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and post-procedure instructions
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with interdisciplinary team members
- Support smooth patient flow in a collaborative PACU and acute care environment
