Job Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Active Texas RN license required; temporary license not accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort working in a high-acuity ICU environment
• Experience with MICU/MSICU preferred
• IABP and CRRT exposure preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to float as needed in the acute care hospital setting
• Professional presentation and adherence to unit dress code and attendance policies

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients with complex and changing needs
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond quickly to clinical concerns in a critical care setting
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures such as chest tubes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes, and GI scopes
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support safe, effective patient care
• Document accurately in the EMR and maintain timely charting practices
• Follow unit guidelines, including badge-in/badge-out procedures and full lunch break compliance
• Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled shifts
