- Work Setting: Float pool with coverage across Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department (ED)
- Additional Scheduling Needs: Holidays, every other weekend, and 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
Job Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care nursing
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI
- PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI
- NIHSS certification
- Ability to float comfortably between Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care in a critical care and float pool environment
- Provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and respond appropriately to changing conditions
- Support patient care across Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department settings based on staffing needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient outcomes
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to teamwork
- Follow unit standards, safety practices, and age-specific care guidelines
