- End Date: 01/02/2027
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and holidays required
- Floating: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
- EMR: Meditech
- Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact state license
- No temporary licenses accepted
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; 18 months may be considered with at least 1 recent year in the specialty
- Current AHA ACLS certification required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or Red Cross equivalent required
- Strong recent experience in cardiovascular nursing, critical care nursing, or ICU nursing
- Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment
- PALS preferred if assigned to a pediatric unit
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult cardiac patients in a high-acuity CVICU setting
- Monitor complex patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
- Care for patients transferred from the Cath Lab, ED, and acute care areas
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal outcomes
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care in a secure environment
- Perform ongoing assessments, interventions, and documentation in accordance with unit standards
- Float to other units or hospitals when needed to support patient care
- Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced critical care setting
