Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where care is provided
- Minimum 1 year of recent full-time equivalent postpartum nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
- Strong IV skills, including lab draws
- Knowledge of high-risk medication administration, including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin
- Experience with adult cardiac monitoring and newborn monitoring
- Demonstrated skill in newborn heel sticks and venipuncture
- Ability to support maternal-newborn education and post-operative bladder training
- ACLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum care to mothers and newborns
- Monitor patients using electronic fetal monitoring and cardiac monitoring equipment
- Administer medications and support safe management of high-risk medications
- Perform IV therapy, lab draws, urine point-of-care testing, and capillary blood glucose testing
- Complete newborn assessments, including pulse oximetry, cardiac monitoring, heel sticks, and venipuncture
- Support newborn care with bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
- Educate patients on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and maternal-newborn teaching plans
- Collaborate with the care team to promote safe, efficient, family-centered care
