Job Details
- Location: Amarillo, TX 79106
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts; 3x12 or 4x12 scheduling options
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Float Requirement: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg nursing experience
- Additional Notes: Open to first-time travelers
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 in a fast-paced inpatient setting
- Comfortable floating to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with isolation precautions, peripheral IV line care, and oxygen therapy
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients
- Monitor patient conditions, including telemetry supported by centralized monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments according to the plan of care
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support charge, discharge, and unit flow in a team-oriented inpatient environment
- Float as needed to comparable units while maintaining high-quality patient care
