Job Details

• Location: Amarillo, TX 79106
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts; 3x12 or 4x12 scheduling options
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float Requirement: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg nursing experience
• Additional Notes: Open to first-time travelers

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 in a fast-paced inpatient setting
• Comfortable floating to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions, peripheral IV line care, and oxygen therapy

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients
• Monitor patient conditions, including telemetry supported by centralized monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments according to the plan of care
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support charge, discharge, and unit flow in a team-oriented inpatient environment
• Float as needed to comparable units while maintaining high-quality patient care
