Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM
- Experience with charting systems required
- Ability to support high-risk obstetrical care, labor and delivery procedures, and maternal-newborn nursing care
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Travel RN experience is welcomed, and first-time travel nurses are accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for laboring patients and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit
- Triage obstetrical patients and support high-risk antepartum care
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate for C-sections
- Recover C-section patients and monitor mothers throughout the postpartum process
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and support clinical decision-making during labor
- Manage and maintain central lines, including CVC and PICC care
- Support therapies such as anticoagulation, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate
- Use IUPC placement and calibration skills as needed
- Follow isolation precautions and maintain a safe, compassionate patient care environment
