Travel nursing opportunity for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Clinton, Maryland, just outside the Washington, D.C. metro area. - Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Schedule: 3x12s; every other weekend required, every other holiday as needed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Start Date: 8/24/2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Patient Volume: Approximately 130 visits per day
- Patient Ratio: 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
- Float Requirement: Within skill set as needed
Job Requirements
- 2 years of recent emergency department RN experience required
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment required
- Recent experience in a high-volume emergency room or emergency department setting required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity ER environment
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Triage experience required
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum score of 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Strong prioritization, organization, and multitasking skills are essential
- Must be able to work every other weekend and rotate holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality care to emergency department patients across all age groups
- Perform triage, assess patient acuity, and prioritize care in a busy ER setting
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, including dysrhythmias, with confidence
- Start and maintain IVs, assist with phlebotomy, and support urgent interventions
- Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient support
- Follow isolation precautions and maintain appropriate PPE practices
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, social services, transportation, and unit support staff
- Float within skill set when needed to support unit operations
- Deliver compassionate, efficient care in a high-acuity emergency department
