Join a collaborative progressive care team in Greenville, North Carolina, where you will help care for complex patients in a fast-paced monitored unit. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers 12-hour night shifts, a consistent 36-hour workweek, and the opportunity to work in a supportive clinical environment caring for post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights

- Unit Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / monitored intermediate and general care
- Patient Population: Primarily post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients
- Location: Greenville, North Carolina
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience
- Strong cardiac nursing experience required
- IV insertion skills required
- Ability to work nights and manage a busy patient assignment
- Experience with monitored intermediate or general care patients preferred
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a 24-bed monitored flex unit
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular needs
- Care for arterial lines, central lines, pacemakers, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and drains
- Administer and titrate IV drips, including cardiac, insulin, heparin, Lasix, and antihypertensive infusions
- Perform IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws, and other essential nursing interventions
- Assist with bedside procedures such as TEE, cardioversions, chest tube placement, and thoracentesis
- Collaborate with the care team to support safe, efficient, patient-centered care
