You’ll support orthopedic, bariatric, colorectal, spinal, and Level III trauma patients while working alongside a collaborative healthcare team that values patient safety, strong clinical judgment, and excellent telemetry skills.

- Position: Med/Surg Tele RN
- Job Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule: 3 or 4 shifts per week based on unit needs
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekend/Holiday Expectations: Every other weekend, floating, and selected holidays required
- Unit Type: 28-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializing in post-op orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, colorectal, and Level III trauma care
- Patient Ratio: Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:7
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: Pre-start orientation provided

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant RN experience
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Comfort working in a Med/Surg Telemetry environment with post-operative and trauma patients
- Ability to work effectively in a unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
- Must meet required clinical competency and compliance screenings before start
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to post-operative orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, colorectal, and trauma patients
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to rhythm changes and clinical concerns
- Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and support safe care plans
- Manage IV therapy, wound care, drains, oxygen support, and other routine bedside interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to promote quality patient outcomes
- Document care accurately in Epic and maintain clear communication throughout the shift
- Support safe patient flow by floating when needed and assisting with unit-based responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented healthcare environment focused on excellent patient care
