• Schedule: Day / Evening / Night rotating schedule with weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge responsibilities as needed

Job Requirements

• 2 years of professional nursing experience required
• Active New York RN license required
• Stepdown or PCU nursing experience required
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• Experience caring for high-acuity stroke and neurosurgery patients required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, arterial lines, and seizure management strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for mixed-acuity neuro and neurosurgical patients in an ICU and stepdown setting
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and monitor closely for changes in condition
• Manage patients requiring hemodynamic and neurological monitoring
• Support patients with devices and therapies such as EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, and arterial lines
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to support individualized care plans
• Respond quickly to evolving patient needs in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Document care accurately and maintain patient safety standards at all times
