• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage may be required

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience preferred
• BLS required before direct patient care
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Comfort working in a high-acuity stepdown or progressive care environment
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Strong proficiency in lab draws
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and insulin drips strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to stepdown and PCU patients
• Perform thorough assessments and continuously evaluate patient status
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and monitor treatment response in accordance with clinical standards
• Care for patients with cardiac, surgical, renal, and respiratory conditions
• Manage telemetry, cardiac rhythm monitoring, and hemodynamic changes
• Support patients requiring BiPAP, insulin drips, and other advanced therapies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate safe, efficient care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery goals
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and strong clinical outcomes
