Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of assignment or compact eligibility
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Behavioral health, mental health, or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• BLS preferred upon hire; ACLS accepted in lieu of BLS
• CPI training required or must be completed onsite before direct patient care
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and therapeutic relationship-building skills
• Ability to work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu for patients with behavioral health needs
• Complete and document physical and behavioral health assessments accurately
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment plans
• Participate in discharge planning and ongoing care coordination
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support patients in crisis
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and revise the plan of care as needed
• Advocate for patients while promoting dignity, respect, and compassionate care
