This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to work in a specialized CVICU setting with rotating day/night shifts and strong exposure to advanced cardiac therapies. With 36 scheduled hours per week, this role is a great fit for experienced Cardiac ICU nurses looking to grow their critical care expertise while supporting some of the most complex cardiovascular cases in the unit.

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2+ years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU, CCU, or CVICU experience
• Recent hands-on competency with VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA catheter-guided therapy
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips
• Strong experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience in a dedicated CVICU or CICU environment required
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for complex cardiovascular patients in a busy CVICU
• Monitor and manage advanced cardiac support therapies and invasive hemodynamic devices
• Assess, plan, and implement care for post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, arrhythmia, lysis, post-IR/PCI, and TEVAR patients
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips based on patient condition and provider orders
• Interpret rhythm strips and communicate clinical changes promptly
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary critical care team to support optimal patient outcomes
• Float as needed to other critical care or progressive care areas while maintaining high standards of patient safety
