- Unit Highlights: 23-bed orthopedic and trauma unit with supportive unit secretaries and PCTs
- Documentation System: Meditech
RN Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred
- Telemetry experience preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale experience helpful
- Experience with bedside shift report and hourly rounding
- Ability to adapt to floating within similar Med/Surg levels of care as needed
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, as well as trauma and neuro overflow patients
- Monitor patient status, assess needs, and respond to changes in condition in a timely manner
- Support safe, efficient care in a 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratio environment
- Complete bedside shift reports and hourly rounding to promote an excellent patient experience
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech
- Work collaboratively with the care team, including unit secretaries and PCTs
- Float to other Med/Surg level-of-care units as assigned
- Use unit equipment and follow established trauma and orthopedic care protocols
