Job Details
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week / 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 26 weeks
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
- Patient Ratio: 1:3-5
- Volume: Approximately 250 visits per day
- Float Requirement: Required between Emergency Observation and Emergency Behavioral Health
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current RN license required; North Carolina or compact license accepted
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, MOAB
- TNCC preferred
- Strong clinical skills in triage, IV starts, telemetry, and emergency care procedures
- Experience with dysrhythmias, stroke care, ventilated patients, procedural sedation, and behavioral health situations is highly valued
- Must be comfortable floating as needed and working in a fast-moving, high-acuity healthcare environment
- Must complete required EKG testing prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Perform triage, assessments, and rapid interventions for a wide range of emergency conditions
- Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, and support critical treatment plans
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
- Support care for patients with stroke, chest pain, respiratory distress, overdose, psychiatric concerns, and other emergent conditions
- Assist with procedures such as EKGs, intubation support, central line care, chest tube management, and sedation monitoring
- Maintain a safe, respectful, teamwork-focused environment for patients, families, and staff
- Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit priorities
- Follow clinical protocols, documentation standards, and facility policies
